Ham Baker develops innovative screen solution

Ham Baker Engineering, the water and wastewater process solutions provider, has developed a next generation Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) screen in response to increased efficiency demands from water companies in the AMP8 investment period.

The new screen is designed to meet strengthened regulatory and sustainability commitments, and helps to cuts carbon requirements through higher performance, reducing energy use and whole-life cost.

The new design, which was created internally by Ham Baker’s engineers through a series of workshops and prototypes, utilises a unique system that ensures continuous operation, even during intense storm events. Adaptable to a wide range of sites and civil constraints, the design enables efficient installation with minimal disruption.

Lee Bennett, Operations Director for Ham Baker Engineering, commented: “The team have worked hard to create this important new product that will make a notable difference to the performance of our clients’ assets.

“As a business we are focused on continuing to innovate for all our stakeholders during this hugely important AMP8 period and beyond, and helping our clients develop the resilient infrastructure that meets the challenges the industry faces.”
